Centra, and its neighboring cities, are under the control of a powerful military and its harsh ruler, Larsen Ashford. The Masons were gifted extraordinary abilites by a Goddess who abandoned them over a thousand years ago, allowing them to shape the sand around them at will. Under their rule, you either have it all, or you have nothing.

Hidden from them is a society of BioShapers, a group of people able to bring plants to life from nothing. Though far less powerful than the Masons, there are some who spend their lives finding ways to overcome their struggles.
